CORSICA RAID 1998

In 1998, the fifth edition of the Corsica Raid Aventure led 140 racers from Ajaccio towards the extreme South of the Isle of Beauty and on to the Alta-Rocca and its canyons, its forests and its granite needles. This was followed by high mountain trekking, climbing Monte Renoso in the cold, snow and wind

The Agriates desert and its 40 °C in the shade didn't discourage racers either who continued to battle on to the finish line in Oletta where they took part in a magnificent joust of island adventures which was won by team Intersport. Just behind,with only one hour of late, Team Vertical lost all the advantage they caught during the whole week. A medical problem forced them to cure their substitute just at one kilometer from the finish line and with a two hour penalty. A late which deprived them of the podium. Teams Draguignan and Ford took naturally second and thrid places.
