CORSICA RAID 1997

This event linked the cities of Ajaccio and Bonifacio by traversing the superb region of the Alta Rocca. From 14 teams participating during the first year, the number of teams in '97 reached 32 of which 7 were international (Belgium, Spain, Italy, US).

At the end of a nail-biting race to the finish between a young team called SR7 and the tenacious Provençal team St Chamas, the Island's Supermarchés Champion triumphed for the third time.Tests on the coastline have been an occasion for everyone to approach marvellous thorny of the corsican scrubland (" a machia ") just before the Corsica Raid Aventure 97 led the course toward tops of the Isle of Beauty. Some huge elevations on particularly short distances have progressively permitted to the team Champion to acquire gradually few minutes to finally finish the adventure racing one hundred twenty minutes before any other competitor...
