The list below is established in the way to insure racers safety, taking into account the environmental conditions specific to Corsica and Corsica Raid.
Grounds, relieves and vegetations are excessively diversified, the weather conditions are particular (influences appropriate for the insularity, stages from the sea to the high mountain), the fact that the raid takes in the daytime but also at night, with the different activities which are planned, the intrinsic profile of every race section. All these points are considered in the determination of the list of the compulsory equipment.
It is taking account of all these parameters that we establish a list of compulsory equipment in term of safety(security). This list is done in the way to insure a minimal safety for which the equipment below seem to be indispensable.
This list is validated by a technical team worried about the safety of the Corsica Raid Aventure’s racers.
Each team can set up its own equipment list. The team must respect the minima imposed by the organization and can add others equipment, according to its own waits in term of race management and comfort.

All the equipments have to be for the standards (standard CE or equivalent) and in state of use.

This list of material can undergo modifications in the next few weeks.

1. MANDATORY TEAM EQUIPMENT

A compass.
An Altimeter
A stove and its fuel (and something to make warm 50 cl of water)
An all-weather lighter (Bic type lighters and others are forbidden) or all weather matches
A first aid kit
A pen
A waterproof pocket or bag for all these equipment, in canyon-rando aqua sections
A satellite phone (Thuraya Type)

a 2 person tent (for the section by 3 racer, you must have a tent for 3) or a one person tent. Bag covers and other things which are not tents are forbidden.

2. MANDATORY INDIVIDUAL EQUIPMENT DURING THE RACE

A. MANDATORY PERMANENT EQUIPMENT BY RACER :
a survival blanket
a whistle
A survival mirror (beauty mirrors, and other forbidden)
a head lamp
sunglasses (protection UV 100 % and IR)
A waterproof pocket or bag for all these equipment
A backpack that can hold the different necessary equipment for each racer on the different race sections.
A breathable and calorific waterproof windproof jacket (wind breaker jackets type K-Way are forbidden)
a long shirt polar fleece
a pair of long pants (Lycra pants and cotton tracksuits are forbidden)
a cap (bandana or buff or similar products are forbidden)
Drinks and food in sufficient quantity for the various conditions existing during the race
A sleeping bag (for the big mountaineering section)

B. SPECIFIC ROPE EQUIPMENT

A Climbing harness (hiking harnesses or mountaineering skiing harnesses forbidden)
One descender (type 8) with screw carabiner

One "y" double asymetric sling industrial patented made. (ex : Spelegyca - Petzl)
Each end of the sling must be clipped with a screw or twistlock carabiner (according to the constructor instructions). The sling must be clean girth hitched to your harness( without any carabiner!). Slings with absorber or made for "via ferrata" are forbidden.

A climbing helmet and a canyoning helmet or an helmet multiuse; survival mirror (beauty mirrors, and other forbidden)in this case it means the constructor guarantees the helmet both for climbing and canyoning ( smooth whitewaters helmet are forbidden for instance!). A Corsica Raid Aventure sticker will be stuck on the front side of the helmet (this sticker will be provided at your arrival).
An ascender jumar( any other is forbidden) with a screw or twistlock carabiner
(ropeman, croll, tibloc or shunt are forbidden).
A one more screw or twistlock carabiner (this one, alone)

C. SPECIFIC CANYONING
A full neoprene wetsuit, in either one or two pieces but with hood (It’s possible to rent it)
All the rope equipment

D. SPECIFIC MOUNTAIN BIKING EQUIPMENT
a mountain bike
A mountain bike helmet (climbing or canyoneering helmets are forbidden) excepted these whisn are standarts on this way).
A plate (size : 25 cm x 15 cm) to be fixed to the front of the bike and showing the team number (size : 15cm x 5cm for each number) given to your team by the Organization when you registered and a Corsica Raid Aventure sticker (given by the organization .

E. SPECIFIC MARITIME ENVIRONMENT SECTIONS EQUIPMENT
A mask and a snorkels
fins
A full neoprene wetsuit (same as canyon for example)
A deco buoy (with 5 meters)

F. SPECIFIC SEA KAYAKING SECTIONS
